Tissue RNA Stabilizer is a tissue sample storage reagent that quickly penetrates tissue and stabilizes cellular RNA at room temperature. This additive allows of avoiding quick freezing of the sample in liquid nitrogen, or immediate RNA extraction followed by reverse transcription to cDNA.
Tissue
RNA Stabilizer keeps tissue RNA intact for:
- 1 day at 37°C,
- 1 week at 25°C
- 1 month at 4°C
- up to 1 year at -20 °C.
Tissue RNA stabilizer is equally effective when isolating different types of RNA and can be used for various tissue samples: brain, heart, kidney, spleen, liver, testis, skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, lung and thymus. To stabilize RNA of peripheral blood and bone marrow, the Blood RNA Stabilizer reagent is necessary.
The reagent is compatible with a number of RNA extraction procedures, e.g., with TriZ reagent, Tri Reagent /TRizol or other commercially available kits for the subsequent RNA extraction from tissues. Prior to RNA isolation, it is enough to simply discard the reagent; additional sample processing is not required. Before isolating RNA from cell suspensions, it is desirable to resuspend them in a small volume of phosphate-buffered saline (PBS).
